PABLO PICASSO
(1881 - 1973)
From 1947 - 1971, Picasso created hundred of ceramics in the southern regions of France's Vallauris, at an atteliere called Madoura.
Picasso fist stumbled upon the proprietors and artists, George and Susan Ramie, at The Annual Potters Exhibition. Once welcomed to the Madoura Pottery Workshop; Picasso fervently sculpted two forms from clay that he left to be dried and baked. It was a year before he returned to visit. To his delight, the work was kept in pristine condition and intrigued him enough to continue in this medium for years to come.
